Mid-level Electronic Security Technician – 3-5 yrs exp

IST is searching for a Mid-level Electronic Security Technician to support clients in Richmond, VA.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Mid-level Electronic Security Technician will plan and perform security system installations, corrective maintenance, troubleshooting and demolition tasks. Security systems include access control systems, burglar alarm systems, CCTV and other electronic and physical security systems.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Read and understand drawings and equipment schematics
  • Provide direction and leadership for system installations
  • Install and program Alarm (Intrusion), Access Control, IP video systems
  • Provide updates to project manager and customers
  • Test, troubleshoot and preform necessary corrections to security system

EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or state-recognized equivalent
  • At least three (3) to five (5) yeas of security installation experience and network ability
  • Knowledgeable of security equipment systems (i.e., intrusion detection, assessment, and access control)
  • Capable of installing and maintaining various alarms, access control, and assessment system devices
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, stand for extended periods, work extended hours, and travel independently
  • Valid state driver license with a clean driving record for the last three (3) years

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to obtain and retain a U.S. Government Security Clearance preferred
  • DCJS Certified or ability to obtain is required
  • Prior troubleshooting experience a plus

IST is searching for a SECURITY DESIGN ENGINEER, located in our Herndon, VA headquarters.

POSITION SUMMARY

Working in the Account Support department, the Security Design Engineer will interface with IST internal resources to support the essential job duties listed below. These duties will be fulfilled by interacting with the IST Business Development, Operations, and Engineering departments, as assigned, for security system design and various other support tasks. The selected candidate will be responsible for coordinating internal resources to drive completion of projects and closeout documentation. This position reports directly to the Senior Design/CADD Engineer and is under the overarching direction of the Vice President of the Account Support department.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Engineering Drawing Packages: Develop preliminary layouts and detailed design drawings from engineering files, notes, sketches and/or other mark-ups. To include wiring diagrams, one-lines, and as-builts in support of project requirements.
  • Work closely with engineering and business development resources to design security systems based on client-provided specifications as well as industry standard practices.
  • Use Autodesk/AutoCAD to efficiently and accurately design and draft plans.
  • Ensure all CAD and IST standards are utilized. Identify and implement efficiencies where possible.
  • Site surveys as deemed necessary to support system design and/or documentation updates.
  • Support for RFP review/response to include requirements assessment and drawing takeoffs.
  • Bill of materials development and equipment specification.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

EXPERIENCE

  • 5 years’ experience in Access Control, Fire Alarm, Intrusion Alarm, Networking, and/or Video design or Technical experience.
  • 4 years’ demonstrated experience utilizing AutoCAD.
  • Experience in security system design for healthcare, government, K-12 and higher education environments.
  • Experience with Genetec, Software House, Gallagher, Exacq and Milestone is a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • An associate degree, or equivalent work experience (4 years), utilizing AutoCAD.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (i.e. Excel, OneNote, Outlook, Power Point, Word, etc.).
  • Team oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.

IST is searching for an Electronic Door Hardware Technician located in Washington, DC.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Electronic Door Hardware Technician shall be a full-time, on-site (Washington DC, with occasional local travel in the National Capital region) position. The Electronic Door Hardware Technician position will be required to perform installation, corrective maintenance, and demolition tasks.

The Electronic Door Hardware Technician shall prepare maintenance reports and ensure that all work is performed safely and that personal protection equipment is used, when required.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Install and maintain door locking hardware such as electronic strikes, magnetic locks and electronic door closures.
  • Perform daily tasks received from the Supervisor or the Senior Alarm Maintenance Technician (i.e., corrective maintenance, new installation, modifications, demolitions, preventive maintenance, etc.).
  • Prepare and submit corrective and preventive maintenance reports as required.

EXPERIENCE

The Electronic Door Hardware Technician shall be knowledgeable of security equipment systems (i.e., intrusion detection, assessment, and access control). The Technician shall be capable of installing/maintaining electronic strikes, magnetic locks, various alarm, access control, and assessment system devices. At a minimum, the Electronic Door Hardware Technician shall have a high school diploma or state-recognized equivalent and shall have one year’s experience working in the alarm system field.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • It is mandatory that the individual in this position be able to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, stand for extended periods, work extended hours, and travel independently. The individual must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance and must possess a valid state driver’s license.
