At IST, the health and safety of our customers and employees is our first priority. With the latest developments regarding the Coronavirus outbreak, we want to ensure our customers that all of our employees are being required to take proper precautions to help prevent the exposure and the spread of the virus to our coworkers, clients and office locations.
We have instructed staff that they are required to report travel outside of the United States to any one of the high-risk areas currently defined by the CDC and World Health Organization (WHO) (link here).
Employees are required to:
- Not visit any customer, prospect, IST or vendors’ offices for 14 days following their return or potential exposure and inform HR and their supervisor of travel/contact history immediately; in addition they must declare recent travel to these high-risk areas before resuming visits
- Monitor their health condition closely by taking their temperature twice a day and seeking medical treatment immediately if they feel unwell
- Remain symptom-free for the 14-day incubation period before returning to the office with their supervisors’ approval
We have asked all employees to closely monitor their health, stay home if symptomatic, and seek medical care as appropriate. If they believe they have been exposed to the Coronavirus, through travel to a high-risk area or close contact with someone who has, they must take precautions to protect themselves and others.
The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends and we concur with the following:
- Avoid touching the eyes, nose and mouth
- Cover mouth and nose with flexed elbow or tissue when coughing and sneezing
- Stay home when sick
- Avoid non-essential travel
- Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60 percent alcohol if soap and water are unavailable
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces
- Avoid close contact with anyone who has a fever and/or cough
- If you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical care early and share previous travel history with your healthcare provider
- Use social distancing and avoid using greetings that require touching
If a customer closes their facilities and requires that our staff leave, we ask that the customer also notify our headquarters at 703-464-4766 ext 0.
We will continue to monitor the updates that are provided by the CDC and will keep our customers and employees updated as a result.
